Hymn 219
Because I have been given much, I too must give;
Because of thy great bounty, Lord, each day I live
I shall divide my gifts from thee
With every brother that I see
Who has the need of help from me.
Because I have been sheltered, fed by thy good care,
I cannot see another's lack and I not share
My glowing fire, my loaf of bread,
My roof's safe shelter overhead,
That he too may be comforted.
Because I have been blessed by thy great love, dear Lord,
I'll share thy love again, according to thy word.
I shall give love to those in need;
I'll show that love by word and deed:
Thus shall my thanks be thanks indeed.
Because of thy great bounty, Lord, each day I live
I shall divide my gifts from thee
With every brother that I see
Who has the need of help from me.
Because I have been sheltered, fed by thy good care,
I cannot see another's lack and I not share
My glowing fire, my loaf of bread,
My roof's safe shelter overhead,
That he too may be comforted.
Because I have been blessed by thy great love, dear Lord,
I'll share thy love again, according to thy word.
I shall give love to those in need;
I'll show that love by word and deed:
Thus shall my thanks be thanks indeed.
I was able to attend a wonderful woman's conference with my Mother in Law this weekend.
The spirit was so strong and I was impressed with so many thoughts and feelings about the things I needed to do and change in my life. I was able to feel His love for me. His "tender mercies" where brought to my mind.
This song was one of those" Tender Mercies".
My mother's favorite song is Because I Have Been Given Much.
As we song this song at the close of our first meeting. I was filled to overflowing with wonderful memories and love of my Mother. I miss her. I was able to recall her tender heart, her service and her laughter all with in moments. I was brought to tears and had a great deal of trouble keeping my composure in the midst of the many women (many I didn't know).

It was indeed a "Tender Mercy" to me.
I am so grateful to have had such a wonderful experience, it feels good to have my spirit fed.
I refer you to the my last post for a wonderful talk by Elder Bednar about the tender Mercies of the Lord.
He loves us and is watching and caring for us in the way that Only a loving Father can.
All the things we suffer, or the trails we face are there to teach us and help us to become like Him.
We often forget our reliance on Him, that he can lift us up, HE can strengthen us.
He gives us little things to help us remember his love. Those things are as simple as looking at the tree in my window filled with Starlings preparing their nests. ( I love that tree!)
And sometimes he gives you bigger things to remember Him. But He is always there, loving us.
