THEN SINGS MY SOUL

This Blog is about one of my favorite things; Gospel Centered Music.

Music is ONE of the simplest forms of learning. Often we are taught entire sermons through just one song.

“Music,is one of the most forceful instruments for governing the mind and spirit of man.” -Gladstone

I am comforted, strengthened and inspired through music.

I love music, and want to share my testimony through the music that inspires me.

Please comment as you wish, and let me know how music inspires you. Make suggestions on what song you'd like to hear, or talk about.

I am going to make it a goal to select a new song each Monday and post it here. I hope as we journey through this we can grow together and live a more Christ centered life.

How Firm A Foundation

How Firm A Foundation #85

"How firm a foundation ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in his excellent word;
What more can he say than to you he hath said?
You, who unto Jesus, for refuge have fled.

"In ev'ry condition - in sickness in health,
In poverty's vale, or abounding in wealth,
At home and abroad, on the land, on the sea,
As thy days may demand, so thy succor shall be.

"Fear not, I am with thee; O be not dismayed!
For I am thy God, and will still give thee aid;
I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.

"The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose,
I will not, I cannot, desert to his foes:
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I'll never - no, never, no, never forsake!"

Text: Attr. to Robert Keen, ca. 1787. Included in the first LDS hymnbook, 1835.

Music: Attr. to J. Ellis, ca. 1889

Helaman 5:12
And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon thearock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your bfoundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty cstorm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
 Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I amthy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

The foundation of one’s individual faith, if anchored firmly to eternal truth, allows each of us to reach upward with an eternal perspective.

How firm our foundation  Click link below

I feel blessed everyday to have a testimony of my savior and his love for me.
How often is there a trial or a time in my life as with many people where they are tested. Trust in the lord or not to trust him?

It is easier to turn to him in times of need, only if you have testimony of the savior and his role in our lives.

I have fallen, LITERALLY, to my knees on many very sad, painful and painful occasions.

I have plead with him, cried to him and on many occasions REJOICED with him.

My testimony hasn't come all at once nor is it always the strongest it can be. But it is growing.
I need not fear, I need not worry, HE is with me!

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
