THEN SINGS MY SOUL

This Blog is about one of my favorite things; Gospel Centered Music.

Music is ONE of the simplest forms of learning. Often we are taught entire sermons through just one song.

“Music,is one of the most forceful instruments for governing the mind and spirit of man.” -Gladstone

I am comforted, strengthened and inspired through music.

I love music, and want to share my testimony through the music that inspires me.

Please comment as you wish, and let me know how music inspires you. Make suggestions on what song you'd like to hear, or talk about.

I am going to make it a goal to select a new song each Monday and post it here. I hope as we journey through this we can grow together and live a more Christ centered life.

Week 5: A few Classical Pieces For The Holidays

Latin English
Pie Jesu
Qui tollis peccata mundi
Dona eis requiem
Agnus Dei
Dona eis requiem sempiternam
Merciful Jesus
Who takes away the sins of the world
Grant them rest
Lamb of God
Grant them everlasting rest

Pie Jesu from Andrew Loyd Webber's Requim.

John Rutter's What sweeter Music

Andrea Bocelli Sings Panis Angelicus
---I have included the translation here too.

Bread of Angels,
made the bread of men;
The Bread of heaven
puts an end to all symbols:
A thing wonderful!
The Lord becomes our food:
poor, a servant, and humble.
We beseech Thee,
Godhead One in Three
That Thou wilt visit us,
as we worship Thee,
lead us through Thy ways,
We who wish to reach the light
in which Thou dwellest.
Amen.

This is the most wonderful time of the year, the time when everyone who believes in Christ is really thinking of Him.
This the time we think of those we love.
The time of year when we serve more unselfishly and give more of who we are.
We are surrounded by music and beauty.

I share with you my love of the Gospel, and the truth of His love.
I am grateful he was born to save us, that we can make use of His loving atonement and live with God again.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
May the spirit of Christmas fill your souls.
