How Great thou Art, #86 LDS Hymnal
Yes, Finally I have used the Hymn that I have put into the title of this blog....
Were you wondering when I finally would? Well, today!
NOTE About this video:
One of the men in this group (first one to sing) was a classmate from my school
PINEVIEW HIGH SCHOOL, Tim Workman. I thought that was pretty cool!
~Of all the beautiful seasons we have, Spring is quickly becoming my favorite. It feels me with life when I can plant some flowers or a tree. When I can see and smell the beauty around me. The dead of winter begins to burst into life with an explosion of color. I love to be in nature.
When I am surrounded by the beauty pf the earth, I can truly feel His love for me.
I cannot question his love for me as the tulips in my yard look up to the sun, I cannot wonder if I am important to him when I lay on the green grass under the blue skies, (when it isn't raining).
I have a tree out my kitchen window that has become a home to several families of Starlings. I love to watch them prepare their homes for babies that I will soon watch hobble out of that same tree. It is one of my favorite things.
These are evidences to me of His love for his children and His creatures on this earth. These things are HIS creations. He loves me, he loves my family and all of his children. That is why these things are here they bring us JOY! We are meant to have JOY!
It isn't hard to see this when I stop and enjoy the beauty around me this time of year.
With SPRING also comes EASTER, when we reflect on the Savior, His sacrifice and His resurrection. Spring is a reminder that after death is life again.
That THOUGH HIS WAS DEAD, HE IS RISEN!
We too will rise again and be with our families, our SAVIOR and our GOD!
It isn't hard to see this when I stop and enjoy the beauty around me this time of year.
I don't need more evidence than this, at least not for today!
I have included below a talk about this very thing. The creations of God are proof of his love...HOW GREAT THOU ART indeed.
The Handiwork of God
From an April 1988 general conference address
This is a beautiful time of year with spring beginning to burst forth in many parts of the world, bringing all of its colors, scents, and cheerful sounds. The miracle of the changing seasons, with the reawakening and rebirth in nature, inspires feelings of love and reverence within us for God’s marvelous, creative handiwork.
The Easter season is a good time for people everywhere to appreciate the wonders of nature and give thanks to the Creator of this beautiful world. Think of what would happen if all of us took time to look carefully at the wonders of nature that surround us and devoted ourselves to learning more about this world that God created for us!
“And behold, all things have their likeness, and all things are created and made to bear record of me, both things which are temporal, and things which are spiritual; things which are in the heavens above, and things which are on the earth, and things which are in the earth, and things which are under the earth, both above and beneath: all things bear record of me” (Moses 6:63).
When we look to see the evidence of Creation all around us, from a grain of sand to the majestic planets, we begin to realize that we are the greatest of all God’s creations; we are created in His image. God created the earth in all its magnificent glory, not as an end in itself, but for us, His children. Indeed, we are His children, His offspring, and He is the Father of our spirits.
To truly reverence the Creator, we must appreciate His creations. We need to plan to take time to observe the marvels of nature. Today, we can easily become surrounded by brick buildings and asphalt surfaces that shelter us from real life around us. Plan to share with your family the miracle of buds changing to fragrant blossoms. Take time to sit on a hillside and feel the tranquillity of the evening, when the sun casts its last golden glow over the horizon. Take time to smell the roses.
All the marvels of nature are glimpses of the Lord’s divine power and expressions of His love. Yet the greatest of all miracles awaits us. It will occur when, by His power, we will come forth from death and the grave to a new world that will not pass away, where, if we are worthy, we will be with Him and our Father in Heaven forever and ever.
I HOPE THE SIGNS AND BEAUTY OF SPRING BRINGS YOU CLOSER TO GOD AND YOU FEEL HIS LOVE FOR YOU TODAY!
