THEN SINGS MY SOUL

This Blog is about one of my favorite things; Gospel Centered Music.

Music is ONE of the simplest forms of learning. Often we are taught entire sermons through just one song.

“Music,is one of the most forceful instruments for governing the mind and spirit of man.” -Gladstone

I am comforted, strengthened and inspired through music.

I love music, and want to share my testimony through the music that inspires me.

Please comment as you wish, and let me know how music inspires you. Make suggestions on what song you'd like to hear, or talk about.

I am going to make it a goal to select a new song each Monday and post it here. I hope as we journey through this we can grow together and live a more Christ centered life.

Week 22: This is the Christ

This is the Christ
James E. Faust

They heard his voice, a voice so mild,
It pierced them through and made their souls to quake.
They saw Him come, a man in white,
The Savior, who had suffered for their sake.
And each could testify:

This is the Christ.
This is the Christ, the Holy Son of God,
Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.
This is the Christ, the healer of our souls,
Who ransomed us with love divine.

I read His words, the words He prayed,
While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane.
I feel His love, the price He paid.
How many drops of blood were spilled for me?
With Saints of old in joyful cry,
I too can testify:

This is the Christ.
This is the Christ, the holy Son of God,
Our Saviour, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.
This is the Christ, the healer of our souls,
Who ransomed us with purest love divine.

What a beautiful Easter Sunday.
I am so Grateful for the Savior.
I know that He loves me. I know that I can be forgiven of my sins and live with Him again.
I know that He suffered MY pain in Gethsemane and on the cross. I know that I can use His gift of forgiveness and love to be the kind of woman He wants me to be.

I have felt his love for me many times. As I reflect on His life, his death and His resurrection I am lifted up and strengthened. I can feel in my heart that HE LIVES!
He is my Savior, my Brother and my Friend.

The Gospel has been my sustaining strength and the constant in my life. Because I have a testimony of his love for me I know that I can more fully live the commandments and pray to my Father in Heaven.

The atonement carried me through the death of my mother and his resurrection comforted me. I can live worthy to see my mother again, and my grandmothers and all those that go before me.
His resurrection brings me peace that I can and will live with my FAMILY FOREVER!
 (Good thing I like them).

I do not claim to be perfect, but I can be perfected through the Savior's gift to me.
He met the need for justice, by sacrificing His life for me, and for all of us on the earth.
I can make his atonement personal to me. I can be lifted up in the last day.

Someday, I will wrap my arms around Him and be able to thank Him personally. I will be able to touch His hands, and I only imagine the feeling of love that He will have for me, and the love that I will have for Him, my elder brother, my Savior.

I bear testimony of His divinity and his love,
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
